A new trend has been emerging on social media and online dating sites. It’s called “breadcrumbing” and it’s quickly becoming the new ghosting. What is breadcrumbing? Breadcrumbing is the act of sending flirtatious, but non-committal messages (breadcrumbs) that end with you never meeting the person IRL. They will lure you in with delicious messages, just to leave you hungry for more. They might like one of your Instagram posts “here and there” just to keep you interested.

A recent survey by SoFi found some interesting stats about how millennials view debt in relationships. It turns out that if you’re honest about your debt and are not a workaholic, you probably won’t get dumped for having a large sum of student loan debt (unless that number is upwards of $100K). Here’s what the 2,000 millennials surveyed thought about debt in the context of their relationships: Only 20.9% think debt is a big deal breaker for a relationship (most thought being a workaholic is the worst).

The New Year always brings in a wave of new online daters. Or in other words, only the most popular day of the year for online dating. On this day, Match.com sees a 42% increase of new members.

The newest way to deny a rumor is to call out “fake news.” At least that’s how Trump is handling the rumors about him. Recently, BuzzFeed News shocked the Internet by publishing a detailed 35-page report prepared by a former British intelligence officer containing unverified allegations about the President-elect and the Russian government. BuzzFeed’s decision to publish the document in its entirety sent the media, and many readers, into a frenzy.
